Adjacent to E. Raymond Avenue, immediately south, is a small area designated as an 'off-leash' dog exercise area (http://alexandriava.gov/uploadedFiles/recreation/parks/Mt%20Jefferson.pdf)
The Greenway south of Stewart Avenue is a 'naturalized habitat' for plants and wild life. Dogs are to be kept on leash in this area.
